Happy News! ... Two of my watercolors selected for Malaysia International Online Juried Art Competition

 So HAPPY and THANKFUL for having  been selected at Malaysia International  Online  Juried Art  Competition in both Categories Landscapes and Animals!

In the landscape category we are seven artists representing Sweden, and in the Animals category we are four. 

I'm especially happy since  both  watercolors have a deep meaning for me.

The landscape "On the way to the beach in Haväng"  shows my father and my friends walking along the path. I was  behind them trying to catch the memory of  that instant to paint it later.

The Animal category painting, "Night parade", presents a more contemporary interpretation, part of my series The gathering, that features the interaction between human beings and animals, and shows in the background one of the nicest churches in Malmö, Saint Pauli church.

Sunrise dance.... let´s dance out inner sun inspiration!

" Sunrise dance" , watercolor study, 21 x 29,7 cm. Series Daily life.

The dark and cold time starts in the north. Life gets frozen on both sides of the window. And we, as small drops of the Universe, keep loving, working, creating. And the creation keeps us alive.

"Sunrise dance " explores that "staying alive" feeling in front of the frozen window. The sun is there today, but sometimes not. Anyway, like the sweet potato sprouts, we stretch our arms and get inspiration from the inner sun.

Here, two of my greatest passions—painting and dancing—come together.

The series "Daily life " features the small things in life full of hidden precious meanings and discoverings about to happen, what we know but can not see yet, and the exact moment when everything becomes unveiled.

A painting that brings the memory of that moment when the storm arrived...

'Storm in the Parana River Delta" watercolor 21× 31 cm. Serie Season's landscapes - small format.

Some time ago I was in the Delta, near Buenos Aires, when a storm unexpectedly hit. I didn't have any art materials with me. I just managed to do a couple of quick pencil sketches and some color notes before the strong wind and the rain started.
Those small quick sketches became the basis for this painting.
I tried to catch that moment immediately before the thunder, the stillness of the water and the silence around me.

Storm means not necessarily destruction, but renovation and rebirth.

Continuing this wonderful journey in watercolor that I started on 4 July 2024 with my first watercolor ever, I keep going, exploring new ways, new techniques,  enjoying more looseness and more vibrant colors. 

A hue that I really would like to explore more is the gamut of yellows in all its possibilities. 

Here cold yellow lemon combined with fully saturated orange give that kind of vibration that I was looking forward in this portrait.

Portraits of the soul is serie in evolution, that expresses pure emotions captured in one instant. More coming soon!
